Custom Australian Motorcycle Builder Shaun Ruddy takes the USA by storm.
Australian Bike Builder,Shaun Ruddy, to represent the USA at the AMD World Championships in Germany.
(Las Vegas,NV) – September 17, 2013 – Shaun Ruddy from Chop Deville, Internationally renowned Custom Motorcycle designer & fabricator enjoyed a successful trip to Sturgis & Milwaukee this past month winning all 3 Motorcycle Shows that he entered his latest hand-built custom motorcycle “Chop Deluxe” in.
Ruddy's first competition was the prestigious J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder held on August 7th 2013 at Lazelle Street, Sturgis SD, where he not only won “People's Choice”, but top honors, the “Ultimate Builder Freestyle Class”. This one day event had the best builders from all over the country competing for the Ultimate Builder award. The J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Competition features the world’s leading customized bikes and offering the largest prize purse of any builder competition on earth. “I was so lucky to not only win, what I consider, the best award, “People's Choice” which tells me what I am building the public like but also “Ultimate Builder” which is voted for by fellow contestants showing me that my fellow builders also appreciate what I build,” stated Ruddy.
Day two, August 8th 2013, Ruddy took his bike “Chop Deluxe”, to the Buffalo Chip where he competed in the 25th anniversary of the World famous Rat's Hole Custom Bike Show at Sturgis. Competitors came from all over the USA, Canada and other parts of the world to compete in the Custom Bike Show. TV cameras were everywhere, with the Travel Channel, CMT, and Discovery all filming this year’s contest. Ruddy once again outshone his competition by taking out both “Extreme Bobber” & “Best of Show” awards. “To say I am excited & honoured to not only take out yesterdays competition but to now win this competition judged by Professional Judges as prestigious as the Rat's Hole judges are is a total understatement. I am bloody wrapped,” stated Ruddy.
From Sturgis Ruddy & his wife Sheree then made the trip over to Milwaukee for the 2nd Annual AMD Invitational Custom Bike Show held on August 29th 2013 at the Harley-Davidson Museum as part of their 110th anniversary celebrations. Shaun Ruddy of Chop Deville ran once again outdid his competition with his Chop Deville Retro Racer. Shaun won the FreeStyle class and will be heading to Essen, Germany in 2014 for the World Championships, where he will represent the USA. “I cannot believe that we have backed up another win coming off our two wins in Sturgis. To have sacrificed everything & move to the USA & now represent the USA is an honor that I cannot even begin to describe. I will wear the team USA shirt with pride & do my very best to bring back the award for the USA,” stated Ruddy.
Ruddy has previosly won the following awards with “Chop Deluxe” - “Peoples Choice” at Artistry In Iron Las Vegas, J&P Cycles “Ultimate Builder” Long Beach & various other best of show awards.

About Chop Deluxe
A board track racer-inspired bike with twenty-six-inch wheels front and back keep the styling of the bike tall & narrow. A 127 cubic-inch El Bruto engine featuring a Panhead rocker box atop the front cylinder while an Evo rocker box is atop the rear cylinder. Takes pride of place nestled within the customised frame. The designed & handbuilt front end by Shaun Ruddy features motocross style shocks. The bike also features a split gas tank divided by the backbone and a split rear fender to match, both sewn together with hand machined polished brass laces. 600 hand machined bolts, wooden grips & pegs, wooden side panels, and an ostrich seat achive the amount of detail required to win shows. “Chop Deluxe” also has a hydraulic foot clutch and jockey shifter nestled within the 2” open drive primarys & hand built stainless steel exhaust that shoot a two foot flame. Shaun Ruddy Background
Shaun is a fully certified Fabrication Engineer, Spray Painter & Panel Beater. As he is well renowned in the custom motorcycle & car industry he is often asked to judge major shows & events. Previous to relocating to the United States Shaun & Sheree owned & operated their own business. Phat Choppers was a full fabrication motorcycle workshop that produced many award winning custom bikes that were handbuilt by Shaun himself. Their business proved to be very succesful for many years & due to their hectic worklife they were both in need of a change & decided to travel to the USA.
Shaun was then employed by Arlen Ness Motorcycles Las Vegas as their Head Fabricator & Tech. During his time there he Built many famous bikes including the ToeCutter as seen on the TLC Channels "World Bike Showdown". Shaun represented Australia against USA, Canda & United Arab emirates. The Toecutter was also entered in the Rat's Hole Shows in both Daytona & Sturgis where it won on each ocassion. Shaun was also invited to participate in the ,elite invite only 2011 & 2012 "Artistry in Iron" competition in Las Vegas where he won both Peoples Choice & Media Choice. From there he went to compete in the international motorcyle show at Long Beach where he once again took out Top Honors.
Shaun & Sheree are currently touring the USA in their 53" Hauler, where they are in production for their new TV Show called "Chop Deville UNCHAINED.
